High speed machining centers : Mikron HSM

High speed milling centers are 10 times faster than conventional milling machines in terms of cutting speed. Greater accuracy and a better surface finish are also achieved. This means that even tempered materials can be machined to a condition where they are largely ready to use.

Mikron HSM 200 LPTravel X, Y, Z : 160 x 160 x 200 mm

The Mikron HSM 200 LP series has been designed for the highest precision and surface quality. These vertical high-speed machining centers are therefore offered for both tool and mold-making and the production of high-quality parts. They incorporate the full technical competence of the Swiss machine manufacturer, GF Machining Solutions.

Experience shows that the advantages of high-speed milling can only be realized at cut speeds of more than 40'000 min-1, high feedrates and the best accelerations available – especially in the case of small milling cutter diameters for tool and mould manufacture. These basic requirements call for all the machine components to be fully adapted to HSC technology.

All axes are powered by direct drives to enable fully simultaneous high-speed machining. The linear axes are supported by linear-roller-guide ways.
